We provide only the best and natural skincare products.
It's important to understand how lotions work, and why they have been used for thousands of years. The skin requires moisture, but water by itself dries too quickly, which we call transdermal water loss. Oils clog pores and cause greasy skin. But when water and water-soluble components are combined with oils and waxes by adding a stabilizing emulsifier, a lotion is born. To that we add active ingredients, including, but not limited to, CBD.
Water-soluble ingredients, known at humectants, might include glycerin, hyaluronic acid, propanediol, and even natural sugars. But avoid products using glycols, which are not naturally derived. Look for tetra-peptides, which are small molecules to increase collagen production, but avoid collagen as an ingredient as it is better that your skin produce its own. Anti-oxidants, such as vitamin C, are good ingredients as they prevent sun damage, repair scar tissue, and neutralize free radicals.

FAQ on CBD
If CBD comes from cannabis, will it make me high?
CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and does not make you high whether ingested or transdermally. Recent research suggests that CBD allosterically binds to the CB1 receptor to prevent THC from binding too strongly, therefore attenuating the effects of THC in the body. While both THC and CBD are cannabinoids, they work very differently in our bodies.
Aren't cannabis and derived substances still illegal in many states?
As of 2018, hemp cultivation has been deemed legal in the United States with a strict set of guidelines. The 2018 Farm Bill ensures that any cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant that is derived from hemp will be legal, as long as the crop is produced in a manner consistent with the Farm Bill, associated federal and state regulations, and by a licensed grower. Our CBD is derived from hemp that contains less than 0.3% THC, which is considered to be a legal substance according to the new Farm Bill regulations.
Does CBD have preventative or curative properties?
CBD has been heavily researched in the recent years for all the benefits it was touted to have. Studies have shown that CBD is largely well tolerated, and it seems to assist greatly with reducing inflammation on the skin and in the body, seizures, pain, depression, anxiety, nausea, migraines, and certain mental disorders.
If I apply CBD product to my skin, am I going to smell like I spent two days at a rock concert?
CBD can be purified from hemp as an isolate, i.e. a pure compound without any other fragrant molecules present. The terpenes, which cause the "skanky" aroma of cannabis, are not present and the resultant skin care product can be either scent free or infused with pleasant natural fragrances. In broad-spectrum or full-spectrum CBD, the terpenes remain, and the end product may have a faint aroma. HERBDOY products are currently formulated with CBD isolate.
I see lots of products claiming hemp's positive characteristics. What is the difference between hemp and CBD?
Hemp is a source of CBD, but by itself, it provides little benefit. Only when the CBD is extracted and isolated from the hemp does it shine. Even then, the formulations made with CBD require special expertise to deliver the full set of benefits, which is why we have taken great care with our ingredients and processes at HERBODY. We believe you also will find our care and attention worthwhile.
